New & Improved

It's been about 7 weeks since Vanessa had surgery for a ruptured disc that caused her to become paralyzed. During Vanessa's recovery, she has been having the time of her life. One can only imagine how long she was uncomfortable with her disc disease or how much pain she felt once the disc ruptured, but the 'true' Vanessa has come forward, now that she feels safe, secure, and much more comfortable.

As a side note, most of our outings have been in the rain, because, well, it hasn't stopped raining here, LOL. But weather never stops us, (although thunder and lightning will keep us inside), and I did manage to pull out the camera a few times.

Without further hesitation, we'll let the photos tell the rest. Introducing, the new and improved, Vanessa!

"Hey, Matsi, did you hear? The doctor says Vanessa is allowed to SWIM now."

"Apparently, they have more faith in my swimming abilities than I do."

"Come on down, Nessa, we'll TEACH you."

"Just watch Matsi and I, OK?"

"Oh, I see, just act stupid in the water."

"How am I doing?"

"WOW, Vanessa's really got the hang of it."

"You guys make it look so EASY!"

"Nessa, why don't you just WADE here with me?"

"Dad, Vanessa doesn't look too good."

"You didn't tell me about the DROP-OFF, Star!"

"Ugh."

"I may need a few days before I try any of THAT again."
